someday...I'd really like a real pool. For now this works and it's fun for the kids. They also are going to swimming lessons at the college for a month this summer.
My blog is about my life..my creative spirit, kids, marrage, work, bike, run, getting fit. Most posts include my beautiful kids in some way (since they are the best part of my life). Lately I've been working really hard to get fit. I face a million challenges everyday.

Couch to 5k
I just started the Couch to 5k training. Today I had William drive me to work and on my lunch hour I did the walk/jog/walk all the way home...then I drove back.
It is 3 times a week and the first week is:
5 minutes walk to warm up
90 sec. jog
90 sec. walk
90 sec. jog
90 sec. walk
90 sec. jog
walk
Because I had 2.22 miles to go to get home I did this twice(jogged 6 times total 90 sec ea.)
It took me 36 minuites to get home. Average moving pace: 15.41 minutes per mile.
Average heart rate: 147

Mt Tam
We hiked Mt Tam Sunday after checking out of the hotel. You can see SF right above my head in the distance.
I'm going back..it was hot but the views of SF are incredible. We drove up as far as we could and parked in a lot and when we got out of the car we heard singing. We started down a trail and came to this play/musical..aparently they do this Music on the Mountain. We walked past (slowly) because we hadnt paid for the show..Honestly it was so hot-I couldnt imagine paying to sit in the sun and feel sorry for actors having to wear costumes and sing and dance in the hot middle of the day. There was no shade. We hiked and hiked and took pictures then turned around and hiked back. By the time we got home in the evening..face was sunburned.
-sunburns always take hours to show up on my skin. We saw so many cyclists on the pacific coast...I was wishing we had bikes. There even were chubby cyclists.

Wicked!!

Saturday night William took me to San Francisco to see the musical Wicked. It was so wonderful. The performers were so good! I loved the singing!!!(I've been singing the songs in my head ever since) The theater, the Orphium, was amazing inside...the detail in the whole building - I could have sat there and looked at that all night.
Wicked. I thought it was a perfect story. You think something is...but is it? The wicked witch is only wicked because someone called her wicked apparently. But who was the truly wicked one? if there was one...the Wizard maybe? the professor or the witches Mom. Can you even call anyone wicked really ? Wicked is intentionally causing someone elses pain(right?). Yes, some of the characters are flawed and out for themselves...but wicked? I don't know about that. I was wondering why the dad wasnt asking any questions.. I did love how the story is woven in to the original movie. It explained alot.

It was really nice to have a night out in the city with my man..
and we didn't have kids to rush home to..they are spending the week in Sac being spoiled, no doubt, by the grandparents. Our hotel was only 4 blocks from the theater but there was a bart on our block and one was across the street from the theater so it was perfect... we would have had to walk farther if we driven the 4 blocks and parked the car somewhere.
We stayed out late. After the show we went back to the hotel. There is a sky-bar on the top floor. We went up and had a few beverages. Our room was on floor 32 and the bar is 39 so we had a nice view all weekend(no fog at all).
-cant wait to go back...I hope we plan another get away like this.
