Pandora's Box

GPP Streat Team

I make a Journal Kit. It's a challenge for the GPP Street team(My first). It isnt fancy. I have pens (I mostly use pens in my journal) glue stick some scraps of paper, plastic rulers, plastic template, glue dots, scissors, decorative scissors, chalk pencil, led pencil, carbon paper and a ball tip stylis. I can think of a few more things to add to it. I really like the date stamper in Michelle Wards kit. I think I'll have to get one.
I have 2 journals. 1 for writing and sketching ideas(It's lined). Plans for projects I'll jot down when the idea is fresh in my mind. #2 is a unlined journal for drawing or painting in. Both will fit in the kit as long as I don't add too much more.
This kit might actually help me remember to take my journal when I walk out the door. I've always made my kits out of Ziplock bags. I go everywhere with Ziplock bags full of my current project.
I'm so happy now that My journal has a home.

GPP Street Team

A year or 2 ago I noticed blogs for the first time. I remember doing a google search for something and fell into someones blog. I started reading...and I kinda felt like I was invading the persons privacy. Like I found a diary and started reading it. I read an article about blogs and heard more about them and found out that it actually is a good way to connect with others with the same interests....To document what's going on in your life and art or any subject you care enough to spend time writing about/photographing. I am an obsessed crafter/art creater. I paint, quilt, glue, glitter, stamp, draw, create. I create because I have to...not so much to get things created.
So I started my own blog last year after reading other blogs. I honestly don't know if this reaches anyone but it doesn't matter because it's mostly for myself. I like having an archive in this media. I share little bits of my life. I don't have time to share everything and if I did it would be boring.
I'm surrounded by people who don't make things. Having this blog makes me feel like I'm more connected to what I do.
With that said... now I've been turned on to challenges. I found a challenge sight that took me to challenge sight to challenge sight...It's like the cream on top of the art+blog. It's so inspiring to see what people create. And there is a different challenge for all the different types of art. Drawing, stamping, mixed media, photography...etc. I haven't seen one for art+quilting or fabric but I'm sure the mixed media would accept fabric. I haven't participated on one yet but I do want to. I found a site called GPP Street Team. The challenge this month is to create a Journal Kit. And share a photo on your blog. The kit due date is 3/1/08 so I'd better get cracking if I'm gonna do it. I'm running out of time. I am the queen of last minute.

Valentines Day!!

I know...long time no blog(or atleast no-real blog) I havent been stitching anything lately though. I have been thinking. I have alot of works of ? in my head.

Last night Liam, Riley and I made class Valentines.

This year Liam struggled with the idea of handing out Valentine cards. Yesterday he told me that he did'nt have to, and was'nt going to. I told him that was his choice...but if he didn't make Valentines to take then he wasnt to accept any. I told him the Valentine card only means " I hope you have a happy day" not "I love you" ...etc. So he changed his mind. But as you can see in the photo there were no stickers or hearts on his cards. He did enjoy the glitter though. I bought some mini-marbles/round glitter at Michaels and they look cute(but they do get everywhere because they are round). Riley was very into making cards this year. She loves gluing, glittering, painting, stamping...anything artsy.

Kitty trauma

I'm sad to report that the new kitty had been sick when we got her. She didnt make it. I noticed a day after we brought her home that something was wrong. It was very tramatic for all of us because she was the sweetest thing. We will all miss her even though she was with us for only a week and a few days.
