Halloween 2010

It's our most favorite holiday ever!!!!! This year, Halloween was very good. William was home(didn't have to work:) ). We decorated, strung lights, carved pumpkins, got dressed up, tricked, treated...lots of fun.

Riley this year changed her mind many, many times before she decided to be a pixie/fairy. I made her costume. The skirt I just made with out a pattern. It's just sparkly tulle and an elastic waist band. She wore leggings and her gymnastic leo under and for the vest, I used a McCall's pattern(M4887). I made the wing shape with thick wire. I stretched pink tights over the frame and glittered and attached arm straps. I painted and sparkled her face and arms and she wore a bright pink wig from the Halloween store...until it was too itchy.

Liam wanted to be Super Mario. We went to the Halloween store Friday and luckily found one his size. His friend, Matthew, went trick-or-treating with us.

I was a fox(one of Riley's previous was-going-to-be's), with a tail and face paint.

William, surprisingly, let me paint his face! I say surprisingly because he is like a 2 year old whenever I try to put anything on him(sunscreen, bug repellent, etc..).
He was the mad hatter.

Rennasianse faire

Saturday was awesome. We took the kids to the Renaissance faire at Casa de Fruita.

William, myself, Riley and Liam. Liam decided he wanted to dress up and we went straight to the rental shop. At about 11am it was warmish. We sat and watched the jousting and horse show. We were all screaming for the knight from Brittan (because we were sitting in his section...) This is a very exciting sport! Lots of danger...Swords are sharp you know.

We walked the entire perimeter 2.5 times. The second time around we found Angel. She works in a fur/leather shop. We bought a fox tail and an amulet bag. I also bought 2 mugs (from the pottery shop)which I love the most. I had to try my grip on all of the mugs and find the one that fit my thumb just right. I found two -they're beauties. They're signed "schultzi". I wish I had a cupboard full of schultzis dishes.

Food prices were high, as we expected, but probably no more than if we'd gone to the state fair.
The kids got a ride on the huge swing. They also shot arrows at an archery booth.
