Challenge Fabric

I'm working on a challenge for the guild.

It's a fabric challenge and I was told I could do anything as long as the challenge fabric is noticable.

I left the fabric draped over the chair for a few days. I looked at it , asked it what it wanted to be, asked Will, Riley and Liam. The responses were- lollipops, circles (from riley)...

Pebbles. Shells. Beach. I just keep coming back to beach, pebble, shell ideas. Octopus? the swirls could make the suckers... or squid?

I went to Barnes and Nobles on my lunch hour and looked for Octopus books. I bought an Autoban Shore animals book. And while looking through it. I noticed the hermit crabs. Liam had hermit crabs a few years ago. (They don't last long-- but they're cute) His first crab, Wally, had a purple shell w/ swirls on it and his body was orange. So there is my project.... Wally.

I plan to use mostly fabrics from my stash... Also I only have a 1/2 yard of the challenge fabric so I will have to be conservitave with it.
